PAINTING THE IVORIES

Talented Artist JULIA NIGHTINGALE has certainly found the key to a successful career in Miniature Painting.

Julia practices an unusual art form of painting images on CHURCH ORGAN KEYS.  With this unique talent she is also maintaining a link with the instrument spanning three generations.

Her grandfather and uncle used to own Geo.Osmond Organ Works alongside the cricket ground in Taunton and in over 50 years of being in a very successful business, collected the old keys when tuning and refurbishing the organs they had built.

Julia was born in Taunton, Somerset and lived in Staplegrove until she was 11.   She now resides in Washington West Sussex and will be marrying in June 2005 and during the marriage service will be having a blessing in St Mary's Church, Washington.

Julia is completely self taught and had an exhibition of her miniatures in the prestigious Maine Gallery in Kingsbridge, South Devon in 2000. She is willing to give talks about her work to Clubs and Schools in the area and can be contacted by email on:-
